Pandemonium, great cartoons. You are such an overachiever it makes me sick never fails to impress me. I'm thinking I will do a joint birthday bad!fic about the bestest elf ever for the two of them. Fingon Is The Bestest Elf Ever – a seriously non-fictional esay.
If there is anything that really makes me want to puke, is people writing Fingon like he wasn’t the most impt. Elf in the Simlmarillion. Everyone who has any sence at all can see he was. (I really hate it when people act like Feanor was all that, or say that Meahdros was probably handsomer or even that guy in Ghondolin Etchelion (what’s that about? Just so completely random.).)
Fingon was brave (obviously, duh, the valiant!!) and chased orks and dragons and rescured his boyfriend. (Yes. He definitevely was his boyfrined. People who don’t think so can’t read English! It’s right there in the text. See The Smilarilluon parts about the Noldor.)
Fingon was the best high king of the Noldor ever. With those braids with gold and fighting more than one balrog at the same time. Very cool and hard to kill. The thing I like about him is he had to hjave been pretty smart. It says right in thebooks that he helped to bring the Noldor bnack tohethjer. The Noldar are very smart overall in general in thebooks, so if someone could do that with all of the arguing and differences of opinions then they would have to be the smartest elf of all. Maeks perfect sense. Yes. That’s our Fingon: Smart and good-looking, I would say. Because Maedhros, his be-loved, was good-looking, (his Qenya names means great body and in my opinion all of the grandchildren of Fionwe were easy on the eyes, even the homiliest ones.)
I cry and cry and cry every time I read about Fingon dying. If I could write the Silmarillon over again, I would make it have a happy ending. Madehros would get there just in time with tons of soldiers at the battle of numbered Tears and they would totally wipe out Mogroth and all of his orcs and magical beasts and the Noldor would live happily ever after in Middle Earth with Fingon as their king. (maedhros beside him, with his hand restored of course) I don’t know what Tolkein was thinking when he ended Fingon the way he did. But I do know he pissed off a bunch of readers, me among them.
Happy Birthday to all those Fingon lovers out there who DO realize he was the best elf ever! Yay! Fingon!!
Excuse the typos please. Unbeated or atually untouched by human hands (ha!). I couoldn’t even read it over mysef. Concit is welcome here, but NO flames from Sindar lovers.
P.P.S : I did this without looking in the books, but I know by heart the Fingon parts, so dont get all know it all with me if there is some irlevant mistake (youre probably wroing anyway--I read the Fingon parts everu siongle day, at least, unless like now I cant find the book).

Thanks, 'scribe and oshun! The cartoons passed muster with Rampaging Frodo (who actually laughed at them) and he loaned a couple of his Calvin and Hobbes books to me for Gothmog and Draugluin inspiration. I confess to sketching little pictures of Gothmog's mom and dad -- Ulbandi and Morgoth -- and his babysitter, Professor Thû, at lunch today. |

Thanks Jael and Pande! I knew my Pande girl had my back on this one (she likes the Noldo), but Jael, you rock, because I know you have a thing about prefering the Wood-elf/Sindarain types and it is just COOL that you can be objective!!
