sônepcizûmab -- meaning "sneeze."
OK, I'm obviously littering this august sub-forum with frivolity. Sonepcizumab is the name of a monoclonal antibody in Phase I trials for advanced solid tumors. I'm writing the annual report for the clinical results to be sent to the FDA, and the name of the drug reminded me of Valarin.

How the crap does one pronounce that? I just conferred with Doc Tyelpo, one of the other thralls here in the Turret of Pharma-dûr, and we parsed it out as... sO-nep- si-zU-mab iThe O and U are long vowels, the others short, and the primary accent is on the third syllable. It doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. (And thanks to the new Work Skin, I can steal time away from the Turret to answer this urgent question!)

What a terrible word. I think it might be Black Speech. Well, I am a thrall to the dark lords of Pharma-dûr. That's my lingo!
