That's why I prefer Quenya over Sindarin. I can pronounce it easier. I still get mocked for my Elvish pronunciation. It's hopeless with or without Ricky Martin lyrics.

*** momentary loss for words *** Where do you go / who do you meet to be mocked for your Elvish pronunciation, of all things? I did not realise there were so many experts in the matter out there... But I agree, I can read Namárië and it sounds half decent. Olé!!

"livinlä vidä locä" - perhaps it could pass by Quenya if Ricky said it fast??!! After all, Quenya and Spanish have almost the same phonetics - about the only similarity, sadly... *** please don't throw anything at me *** ;D Russandol, I seriously almost spewed tea at livinlä vidä locä. You guys are too much. So glad I can come to the Lizards for some light-heartedness. Some Folks out there in Tolkien land take themselves Much Too Seriously. ;D

If you knew me better, you would know I exaggerate wildly--it's called blarney among my family members--lying by the rest of the world.
I did meet someone once who corrected me with attitude every time I said the name of any character from The Silmarillion. And I have been asked about my mispronunciation among others who were much nicer about it. At this point, I have met quite a few fanfic writers personally. I live in New York City--everyone seems to pass through here eventually. No actual wood elves yet, but I did think I spotted Maedhros and Fingon in the Village. (OK. That is a lie, but I do look.)
Spanish is the only language I know besides English. (I did know Latin and French once, but I managed to pretty much forget them.)

Well, I am warned from now on, but you had me worried for a minute! ;D
It has been almost 12 years since I visited NY, so if you see M+F again say hi from me, it has been ages since we went for a ride in Windsor Great Park together. Verdad verdadera!!!

Okay, someone needs to write a fic/ficlet using a House called Livinlävidälocä just to see if readers outside this forum notice anything...!

Glad about that, SurgicalSteel, I felt as if I had stolen your word. But this morning I just got this inanity stuck inside my head and would not go away... ;D

A little bit out of context, perhaps, but in my Hobbit and LotR parodies, horny Hobbits frequent Madame Hardbottle's House of Redlight.
