Hey, I don't want to cause anyone else to do research that I am too lazy to do--so just send me in the right direction if its too much trouble to sort out. I tried to do a quickie look up in some the online encyclopedia entries (nearly always a mistake) of the proper Sindarin and Quenya designations for Ulmo, needed for a discussion between Daeron and Maglor (First Age 20). I found the following, which only confused me further:
"The Sindarin form of Ulmo is Ulu, though he is also called Guiar and Gulma."
Also:
"Ulmo (from the Valarin Ulubôz, Ullubôz) is a Vala, and lord of the seas. Ulmo is a title, which means He who pours. He is also known as King of the Sea and Lord of Waters. He is known in the earlier writings by his Noldorin name Ylmir."
I guess the question, what is a likely name that Daeron would use for him? And if Maglor would recognize the name or seek clarification as to who he is talking about?
