While looking through my files in search of the quenya rules (in order to update something I noticed was awry with the generator while answering Elleth's name question), I came across a text file called 'quenya'. I'm not sure why it was in my HTML folder, nor why it was so very descriptively named (I'm good like that), but it turned out to be a list of random female Quenya names. I think I may have made it while testing out the not-yet-posted randomiser for the QuenGen, just to have a list of names handy for the next throwaway OC to appear in one of my stories.
Anyhow, I figure it might be a good resource to post here in case anyone at any point in the future needs a quick female Quenya name. Feel free to use any of these. If you do, post a reply so I can strike it off the list.
Disclaimer: I do not know what any of these means. Which is to say, I could figure them out if I put in any effort at all, but I'm just too lazy at the moment. Because I suspect they were made by a randomiser, they may make no sense at all. But they're linguistically sound.
Ainalairë Terenaurë
Nindesilmë Merenissë Morneseldë Lairanildë Aramiril
Lúnalindë
Almalarkë
Alquien Saralaurë Hísanúldë Tindaquessë
Rilyendë Eärissë Lantalitsë Lassaliltë Sílawendë Riënissë
Elenestë Armirimë Anwanildë Nólavanyë
Halwatindë Lindaránë Tuilekallë Relairë Ninquetanë
Lintasarë Lornawendë Linquemaril Rilyanendë Rosserína
Maldanassë
Aurelairë Vendesermë
Quelentári
Most of these can be easily made into male names by swapping the final -ë for -o or -on.

If it's ok, I would like to use Alquien for an alternate pen name (mostly because Goooogle thinks it's a typo, which is perfect!

Darth, I needed a couple of these - Halwatindë and Maldanassë have moved to the Helyanwe universe. Thanks!

I am greedy but stock names are just what I need to name a bunch of ladies in waiting. I've grabbed Lúnalindë, Almalarkë, Rilyendë, Aurelairë and Quelentári but you don't need to strike them off, if other people wanna use them it's awesome. Three of them are just names mentioned once or twice so that that I don't have to keep identifying them by the colours of their dresses.

Darth - I need some healers, so I'm grabbing Earisse, Silawende and Vendeserme (except I'm making her male as Vendesermon).
As always, thanks bunches.

Not sure how exactly Vendesermë translates (Maiden(ly) friend? Friendly maiden?) but I thought you might want to know the name might be a tad unfortunate for a man going by Tolkien's typical naming patterns. If you replace the vende- element, you should be okay, though.

I think when picking Quenya names, you maybe need to be careful to avoid unintentionally making readers laugh. I studied Spanish for seven years. The verb 'vender' means to sell, and 'vende' would be 'he sells' or 'she sells.' When I see the name 'Vendesermon' it looks like someone selling sermons and puts me in mind of elves going door to door selling religious tracts like Jehovah's witnesses or Mormons. Sort of like the Chevy Nova that would never sell in Mexico - because 'no va' means 'it doesn't go.'

Certainly something to think about, Surgical. I didn't have that reaction when I worked with the name and I also speak Spanish, but I do see your point. Perhaps I'll just go back to the name generator for one. I just need a healer - a quick character name for someone who is only a mentioned character in the story. I currently am using a Sindarin name and would prefer Noldorin instead.
