I spent part of this morning at a reference webinar for youth service librarians, and this site came up; some of us might find it useful: Food TimelineIt's run by a reference librarian and food historian, and while it's aimed at kids, it has really interesting and useful information about all sorts of foods!

I fell into this and have been reading for several hours now. It's a fantastic resource and starting point for research. Thank you.

This is very cool. I love browsing it. Could be helpful also. Led me very circuitously to a recipe I was trying to find to use for Christmas--wanted kind of a medieval cheese and mushroom pie and found one. I am so easy to entertain.

This is a great resource, thank you! *bookmarks* I've been a ship's doctor in a 17th-century, Carribean-based RPG once and searched my eyes square for the kind of fruits and foods available at the time and place. This would have come handy.
